Ine Poppe is schrijver, docent, journalist en kunstenaar. Studeerde in Utrecht aan de kunstacademie, liep stage in Hamburg en studeerde Nederlands in Amsterdam. Kreeg internationale bekendheid met het project Moedermelkkaas, begin jaren ’80. Poppe bedacht en schreef het televisiescenario voor Necrocam: dood online, geregisseerd door Dana Nechustan (prijs voor het beste dramascenario, European Broadcast Union, 2002). Ze maakte televisieprogramma’s en schreef scenario’s voor computergames en regisseerde Hippies From Hell, een documentaire over de groep hackers en activisten die het internet in Nederland introduceerde. In 2011 maakte Ine Them Fucking Robots, over de Canadese robotkunstenaar Norman White. Ine maakte in 2015 een documentaire over haar obsessie, het gebit in al zijn facetten: Tanden.

Poppe werkt al 20 jaar op de Willem de Kooning Academie in Rotterdam, waar ze o.a. eindexamens begeleidt. Ook is ze betrokken bij ArtScience in Den Haag. Ze schrijft naast haar journalistieke werk (voor onder andere NRC Handelsblad 1996-2015) voor transmediale projecten. Ze schreef het scenario voor The Modular Body, een transmediaal project over biotechnologie door Floris Kaayk. In oktober 2016 kreeg Floris Kaayk het best interactive Gouden Kalf voor the Modular Body. In 2017 maakte Poppe een empathische chatbot: Pip. De logfiles van de gesprekken die mensen met Pip voerden resulteerden in 2018 in een geluidsinstallatie die op de RobotLove tentoonstelling in Eindhoven werd geëxposeerd. Op het moment is Ine betrokken, naast haar aanstelling op de WdKA, bij veschillende projecten als scriptcoach. Ze organiseerde in 2021 BEFtival, een manifestatie over vrouwelijke seksualiteit met meer dan 30 wetenschappers en kunstenaars in Amsterdam, daar trad zij op asl tong-lezeres die uw seksuele toekomst voorspelt. Poppe preekte in de Oosterkerk en zong met de aanwezigen een herschreven versie van psalm 42, de Culturele stelling van Amsterdam. Sinds eind 2022 huurt Ine met haar man Sam een studio in Plantage Dok waar ze naast het organiseren van (film)avonden ook exposeert.

Ine Poppe is a writer, teacher, journalist and artist. She did art school in Utrecht, was an intern in Hamburg and studied Dutch literature in Amsterdam. Ine became internationally known with her project Mothermilk Cheese.  She made tv-programs and scenario’s for computergames and wrote the tv-script for Necrocam: death online, directed by Dana Nechustan (award for best dramascript, European Broadcasting Union -EBU- 2002). Ine Poppe directed the documentary Hippies From Hell, about the group of hackers and activists that introduced the internet in the Netherlands. In 2011 she made Them Fucking Robots about the Canadian robot artist Norman White. In 2015 she presented ‘Teeth’, a documentary about her obsession with teeth.

Ine wrote for Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad  (1996- 2015) and produced the scenario for The Modular Body, a transmedial project with Dutch artist Floris Kaayk. The project was awarded with a ‘Gouden Kalf’ -the Dutch equivalent of an Emmy award- for the best interactive project of 2016. In 2018 Poppe made an empathic chatbot called Pip. The logfiles of the conversations with Pip resulted in 2018 In in a sound installation for the RobotLove exhibition in Eindhoven. In 2021 she organized BEFtival, a manifestation about female sexuality with more than 30 scientists and artists in Amsterdam, where she also performed as a tongue reader who predicts your sexual future. Poppe preached in the Oosterkerk and sang a rewritten version of Psalm 42, the Cultural Proposition of Amsterdam, with the audience. Since the end of 2022, Ine has been renting a studio in Plantage Dok with her husband Sam, where she also exhibits in addition to organizing (film) evenings.
